Absolute perfection... Blazing sunshine, warm weather, rough seas and decent wind, what more could we ask for. I started out with my 5m and big (90ltr) board as there were some pretty big lulls and I didn't fancy being underpowered and sinking in amongst the waves. The set up was perfect, maxed out in the gust, a little marginal in the bigger lulls but just right most of the time. Spent most of the day on that set up getting some pretty big jumps on the way out, some perfect gybes right under the lip of some of the big waves out the back and then some fast runs screaming down the faces of the waves on the way back in.

Lots of people were out, me, Mark from Tywyn, Chris, AndyW, Stevebus and a few others that I didn't recognise.

The wind gradually picked up throughout the day so after a few totally overpowered runs I changed down to my smaller board and spent the last hour or so on that. Once again maxed out most of the time. I think I can claim wipe-out of the day as well for a big forward attempt. I got a decent jump off a nice ramp, already bearing away and a little overpowered, but thought I'd go for it anyway. As I sheeted in the rig just got ripped from my hands, I was already commited to the forward so off I went on my rotation, whilst the board and rig went off on its rotation, I literally got flung through the air end over end compleely extended. Thankfully I managed to get away from my kit and was OK, but it certainly felt pretty spectacular and judging by Mark's reaction on the beach later it looked pretty good too.

Ended up somehow taking a chunk out of the back of my board, but other than that perfect day... There was even the unexpected bonus of several bikini girls in the water!
